Tourism Malaysia and MHTC debut first-ever collaboration Malaysia Fair to showcase Malaysia as a premier leisure and medical tourism destination

Tourism Malaysia, in partnership with the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC), is set to unveil Malaysia Fair 2025, a four-day celebration of Malaysia’s vibrant culture, world-class healthcare, and culinary heritage. From 25 to 28 September 2025 at Pakuwon Mall, Surabaya, this landmark event marks the first collaboration between Tourism Malaysia and MHTC in support of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) and the Malaysia Year of Medical Tourism 2026 (MYMT2026) campaigns.

The fair positions Malaysia as a destination where leisure meets healthcare excellence, offering visitors immersive experiences through exclusive holiday packages, premier healthcare services, and dynamic cultural showcases—all under one roof.

For the fifth consecutive year in Surabaya, MHTC brings its world-class healthcare offerings, featuring Malaysia’s most awarded hospitals and integrated care packages. Participating hospitals include Flagship Medical Tourism Hospital finalists such as Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), Island Hospital, Mahkota Medical Centre, and Subang Jaya Medical Centre, alongside other leading facilities including Alpha IVF & Women’s Specialists, Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur, KPJ Healthcare Berhad, Sunway Medical Centre, and Thomson Hospital Kota Damansara.

Beyond healthcare, Malaysia Fair 2025 delivers a rich cultural and lifestyle program. Visitors can enjoy performances by Malaysia’s Teh Tarik King, traditional dance showcases, and family-friendly interactive activities. Leading Malaysian universities, including Todak Academy, USIM, UCSI University, UPM, and UKM, will also present education opportunities, exclusive travel packages, and special promotions.

Culinary enthusiasts will delight in the Malaysian Food Promotion at Magnolia Restaurant, The Westin Surabaya, from 26 to 28 September, presented by Tourism Malaysia and Marriott International. Signature dishes crafted by a guest chef from Penang Marriott Hotel will give diners a taste of Malaysia’s diverse gastronomy.

“Being a multi-racial country, Malaysians are fortunate to enjoy diverse foods and cultures. Food is a core part of our identity, and gastronomy is a strong selling point to promote Malaysia,” said Mr. Hairi Mohd Yakzan, Director of Tourism Malaysia Jakarta.

The fair also highlights the enduring Indonesia-Malaysia connection, fostering cultural exchange and stronger people-to-people ties. “This first-time collaboration with MHTC allows us to combine leisure and cultural experiences with the prestige of Malaysia’s healthcare services,” Mr. Hairi added.

Echoing this vision, Mr. Lokman Izam Abd Aziz, Vice President of Marketing & Communications at MHTC, said: “Through our new tagline Healing Meets Hospitality, we are excited to showcase Malaysia as a destination where visitors can heal mind, body, and soul, surrounded by quality medical and tourism experiences.”

With its rich cultural diversity, dynamic culinary scene, stunning landscapes, and comprehensive tourism offerings, Malaysia continues to be a preferred destination for Indonesian travelers. Tourism Malaysia remains committed to collaborating with local media, influencers, and content creators to shine a spotlight on both iconic attractions and hidden gems, offering an enriched travel experience for all.
