Wizz Air is urging UK travellers to check their passports before the October half-term holidays. Data obtained by the airline shows that 135,006 British adult passports are due to expire in October 2026.
Figures obtained from HM Passport Office through a Freedom of Information (FOI) request show that a further 125,405 adult passports will expire in November. Another 106,768 are due to expire in December.
In total, 367,179 British adult passports are due to expire in the final three months of 2026.
With many UK holidaymakers preparing to travel during the October half term, Wizz Air advises passengers to check their passport details and their destination’s entry requirements well before departure. This gives travellers time to address any issues before their trips.
Wizz Air Expands London Luton Routes to Spain
The passport warning comes as Wizz Air expands its London Luton network for the autumn travel season.
The airline will launch new year-round services to Málaga, Granada and Asturias in late October. These additions expand its existing network to Spain from London Luton, which already includes destinations such as Barcelona, Bilbao and Seville.
Yvonne Moynihan, Managing Director at Wizz Air UK, said: “Nobody wants to arrive at the airport ready for their half term holiday only to discover there’s a problem with their passport.
“With more than 135,000 adult passports expiring this month alone, we’re encouraging anyone planning to travel to dig theirs out now and make sure everything is in order. Check your passport, check the entry requirements for where you’re going and get it sorted early if you need to. “And it’s not just half term. More than 367,000 adult passports are due to expire before the end of the year, so if you’re already thinking about a Christmas getaway, it’s worth checking now rather than leaving it until December.”
The airline’s advice also applies to travellers planning Christmas holidays. With more than 367,000 adult passports due to expire by the end of December, checking documents early can help passengers identify potential issues before departure.
