Four Seasons Names Robert Fritz Executive Chairman as Isadore Sharp Transitions to Chairman Emeritu
Robert Fritz appointed Executive Chairman of Four Seasons

Luxury hospitality giant Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts has announced a major leadership transition, naming Robert Fritz as Executive Chairman while founder Isadore Sharp assumes the role of Chairman Emeritus.

The move marks a significant milestone for the globally recognised luxury hotel company as it continues to strengthen its long-term strategic direction amid ongoing expansion across international markets.

Mr. Fritz, a long-time executive with Cascade Investment — the majority shareholder of Four Seasons — has served as Lead Director on the company’s Board since 2022. During that period, he worked closely with the Board and executive leadership team to help shape Four Seasons’ long-term development strategy.

As Executive Chairman, Mr. Fritz will continue leading the Board while working alongside Alejandro Reynal, President and Chief Executive Officer of Four Seasons, to guide the company’s future growth and operational vision.

Founder Isadore Sharp Remains Closely Involved

Widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in modern luxury hospitality, Mr. Sharp founded Four Seasons more than six decades ago and transformed the company into one of the world’s most respected luxury hotel brands.

Despite transitioning to Chairman Emeritus, Mr. Sharp will remain actively involved with the business, continuing to represent the brand globally while supporting the company’s culture and values.

“Robert and I have long been aligned on what makes Four Seasons special: its people,” said Mr. Sharp. “As Chairman Emeritus, I remain closely involved with the company and committed to its future.”

The company said the transition reflects continuity in leadership philosophy, with Four Seasons maintaining its long-standing focus on service excellence, people-centric operations and measured global expansion.

Shareholders Back Long-Term Vision

Michael Larson, Chief Investment Officer of Cascade Investment, praised Mr. Fritz’s leadership and strategic engagement with the company.

Meanwhile, Sarmad Zok, CEO of Kingdom Hotel Investments, reaffirmed shareholder confidence in Four Seasons’ direction and paid tribute to Mr. Sharp’s enduring influence on the luxury hospitality sector.

Privately held by Cascade Investment together with Kingdom Holding Company and Isadore Sharp through Triples Holdings Limited, Four Seasons continues to operate with a shareholder structure focused on long-term value creation rather than short-term market pressures.

Four Seasons Continues Global Expansion

With more than 130 hotels and resorts operating worldwide and an active luxury development pipeline, Four Seasons remains focused on strategic expansion, innovation and maintaining the high service standards that have defined the brand for over 65 years.

Under the leadership of Alejandro Reynal and Robert Fritz, the company is expected to continue strengthening its position at the top end of the global luxury hospitality market while preserving the culture established by its founder.

The leadership transition comes at a time when premium travel demand remains resilient globally, particularly across luxury leisure, branded residences and experiential hospitality sectors.
