Hyatt has appointed Guido Fredrich as Vice President, Development Luxury and Lifestyle, Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EAME), as the hotel group continues to expand its portfolio across key gateway cities and leisure destinations.
Fredrich will lead the growth of Hyatt’s Luxury and Lifestyle brands throughout the region, focusing on strategic opportunities and partnerships with owners.
Hyatt Accelerates Luxury and Lifestyle Growth
Fredrich joins Hyatt at an important stage in the company’s regional expansion. Hyatt is continuing to strengthen its presence in culturally relevant cities and iconic leisure destinations across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
Recent additions to the portfolio include Andaz Lisbon and Miraval the Red Sea. Meanwhile, further openings are expected before the end of 2026, including Thompson Seville, Thompson Rome and The Standard Lisbon.
The expansion reflects Hyatt’s strategy of bringing distinct brands to locations where they can offer differentiated experiences for travellers and create long-term value for owners and partners.
More Than 15 Years of Hospitality and Real Estate Experience
Fredrich brings more than 15 years of international experience in hospitality development and real estate to the role.
He previously held a senior development position at Hyatt, where he oversaw more than 15 market entries across several brands. Before returning to Hyatt, Fredrich served as Chief Development Officer at Corinthia Hotels, leading the global expansion of the Corinthia brand and securing strategic entries into key markets.
Prior to joining Corinthia, he was Head of Asset Strategy at Signa.
Felicity Black Roberts, Senior Vice President Development EAME at Hyatt, said Fredrich’s appointment underlines the company’s commitment to continued and intentional growth across the region.
“Guido’s appointment is a sign of our commitment to continued intentional growth across the region. His track record of identifying strategic market opportunities with strong brand differentiation will be an invaluable asset to our team.”
Black Roberts added that, despite macroeconomic and geopolitical uncertainty, demand for high-quality hotels remains resilient.
“Travellers are becoming more discerning and are increasingly choosing hotels that offer distinctive experiences. That plays directly to Hyatt’s strength: a portfolio of brands with genuinely different personalities, each designed for a different purpose of stay.”
Bringing the Right Hyatt Brands to the Right Locations
Hyatt aims to continue expanding its Luxury and Lifestyle portfolio by matching its brands with suitable destinations and development opportunities across EAME.
“Our ambition remains simple: to bring the right brands to the right locations with the right owners,” Black Roberts said.
Fredrich said he was pleased to return to Hyatt at a significant time for the company’s growth.
“I am delighted to rejoin Hyatt at such an exciting time for the business. Having worked with many of Hyatt’s brands over the years, I know the strength of the portfolio and the opportunities that exist across the region.”
He added that he looks forward to working with owners and partners to expand Hyatt’s Luxury and Lifestyle presence thoughtfully and create exceptional hotels across the region.
Hyatt’s Growing Luxury and Lifestyle Portfolio
Hyatt’s Luxury and Lifestyle portfolios currently span 14 brands, comprising more than 70 hotels and 11,000 rooms across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
With several high-profile openings planned through 2026 and beyond, the appointment of Guido Fredrich supports Hyatt’s continued focus on expanding its presence in some of the region’s most important urban and leisure markets.
