Langham Hospitality Group (LHG) has appointed Nils-Arne Schroeder as Chief Operating Officer, effective 22 June 2026, as the group expands its portfolio of hotels and residences into more destinations.
Schroeder will oversee operations for LHG’s global portfolio of more than 30 hotels and residences. He will also support the successful opening and integration of more than 20 properties currently in development.
These include the group’s first hotel in Thailand and new openings in China this year. Meanwhile, brand-defining properties are scheduled to open in Italy and Malaysia in 2027, followed by Saudi Arabia in 2028.
“As we expand to more destinations, Nils’ breadth of experience across regions, cultures and hotel segments will be a major asset,” said LHG Chief Executive Officer Bob van den Oord. “He has a proven ability to respond to market needs without diluting brand identity, and to turn that balance into sustained performance.”
Schroeder Brings More Than 30 Years of Experience
Schroeder joins LHG with more than 30 years of hospitality leadership experience across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe and Africa.
Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, Operations – Europe and Africa for Raffles and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, based in Dubai. Previously, he was Senior Vice President, Operations – Asia, Middle East and Africa for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
Earlier in his career, Schroeder spent more than two decades with Hilton. During that time, he held hotel, regional and brand leadership positions across Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
His most recent Hilton role, based in Singapore, was Vice President – Luxury and Lifestyle, Asia Pacific. At the same time, he served as Global Brand Head for Conrad Hotels & Resorts.
Furthermore, his broader experience spans commercial performance, brand positioning, business development and hotel openings. This gives him a well-rounded perspective on supporting expansion across different regions, brands and operating environments.
“I am honoured to join Langham Hospitality Group at such an exciting point in its growth journey,” said Schroeder. “The company has built a distinctive portfolio of brands with a reputation for exceptional hospitality and meaningful guest experiences.
“With an exciting pipeline of new hotels and residences, there is a tremendous opportunity to build on that foundation while continuing to deliver operational excellence across every property.”
Schroeder to Lead Global Operations
Schroeder is based at LHG’s headquarters in Hong Kong and reports directly to van den Oord.
In addition to leading operations for more than 50 existing and pipeline properties, his remit includes Group Operations and Quality & Sustainability. Together, these functions support operational excellence, enhance the guest experience and further the expansion of the company’s global portfolio.
