Markus Kosch brings 28 years of Hilton experience to Conrad Nagoya

Markus Kosch brings 28 years of experience with Hilton to Conrad Nagoya, the luxury brand’s first hotel in the Japanese city. His career with the group has included several hotel openings across Asia, from Hilton Hefei to Conrad Guangzhou.

Kosch began his first general manager role at Hilton Hefei, which was later recognised as Hilton Worldwide’s “Hotel of the Year.” He subsequently led the openings of Hilton Shenzhen Futian and Conrad Guangzhou. He also oversaw luxury cluster operations in Sanya and Dalian.

Conrad Nagoya to Open at The Landmark Nagoya Sakae

Conrad Nagoya will open within The Landmark Nagoya Sakae development, bringing 170 rooms to the city. The hotel will mark Conrad’s first property in Nagoya.

The project draws on Aichi Prefecture’s artistic heritage through locally inspired design, dining and guest experiences. It will also introduce Conrad 1/3/5, the brand’s programme of curated one-, three- and five-hour itineraries.

These itineraries are designed to help guests explore Nagoya’s culture, craftsmanship and local stories. One featured tradition is Arimatsu Shibori, the Japanese textile-dyeing technique known for its intricate patterns.

Markus Kosch Brings Asian Hotel Opening Experience to Nagoya

Kosch’s previous roles have included launching hotels in several Asian markets and overseeing luxury hotel operations across multiple properties. At Conrad Nagoya, he will lead the brand’s entry into the city.

The hotel’s concept combines Conrad’s contemporary luxury positioning with design and experiences inspired by Nagoya and the wider Aichi region. Its opening will add the city to Conrad’s portfolio of destinations in Asia.
