Our visit to SplashMania Waterpark during Tourism Malaysia’s Mega FAM Trip under the Citrawarna 2026 programme offered an enjoyable look at one of Malaysia’s most ambitious family leisure attractions — where water, adventure and nature come together at Gamuda Cove.
There are some places where you immediately notice the energy as soon as you arrive.
SplashMania Waterpark at Gamuda Cove was one of them.
Our coach arrived at the waterpark shortly before noon, and we were soon welcomed and taken on a guided tour of the sprawling park by Vincent Koh, Assistant Manager – Public Relations & Social Media, Leisure & Hospitality.
It was a busy day, with plenty of visitors already enjoying the park.
But what struck me was how well organised everything appeared despite the crowds.
A Waterpark Full of Life
As we walked through SplashMania, we saw children excitedly enjoying the attractions, families spending time together and groups of visitors making the most of the waterpark.
There was a genuine holiday atmosphere.
The park was lively without feeling chaotic, which is not always easy to achieve at a popular water attraction.
SplashMania is designed for a broad audience, from young children and families to adventure seekers looking for something more exhilarating.
According to Gamuda Land, the waterpark features 24 water slides and 15 key attractions, making it possible for visitors with very different interests and ages to find something to enjoy.
The park is also built around the concept “Where Nature Meets Fun,” with 70% of the waterpark comprising green landscaping.
That combination was noticeable during our walk.
Well Maintained Despite the Crowds
One of the details I particularly noticed was the attention being paid to the walkways.
With water everywhere and hundreds of visitors moving around, wet surfaces are inevitable at a waterpark.
Yet attendants were constantly taking care of wet areas, clearing water and wet sand from the pavements so visitors could walk comfortably.
It may sound like a small detail, but it makes a considerable difference to the overall experience.
A waterpark can have spectacular slides and attractions, but cleanliness, maintenance and safety are equally important, particularly when families with young children are involved.
During our visit, I was impressed to see staff actively maintaining the public areas rather than simply waiting for problems to occur.
Amazonia Is the Centrepiece
One of SplashMania’s most distinctive features is Amazonia, a life-sized ship that serves as one of the park’s major visual landmarks.
According to Gamuda Land, Amazonia is the only life-sized ship of its kind in Malaysia with multiple levels incorporating waterslides, a café, event space and a DJ deck.
It is difficult to miss.
The ship gives SplashMania a strong visual identity and adds a sense of adventure to the park.
Around Amazonia are some of the waterpark’s signature attractions, including the Plunge, which drops riders six storeys from the ship.
For younger visitors, meanwhile, there are dedicated attractions such as Mini Mania and Treasure Tower.
This variety is important because SplashMania is not aimed solely at thrill seekers.
Something for the Whole Family
One of the strongest impressions from our visit was the number of families enjoying themselves.
Parents were accompanying their children, youngsters were running between attractions and groups of friends were clearly having a good time.
SplashMania divides its attractions into four broad categories — Extreme Adventure, Thrill Adventure, Family Adventure and Kids Adventure — helping visitors identify experiences appropriate to their interests and ages.
That makes sense for a destination that wants to attract families and groups rather than only hardcore waterpark enthusiasts.
For parents, having different levels of activity within the same park means children of different ages can enjoy the day together.
More Than Just Water Slides
Another thing that came through during our visit was that SplashMania has been designed as an all-day destination.
There are seven food and beverage outlets around the park, ranging from Western dishes and Middle Eastern cuisine to local Malaysian favourites and Indian food.
That variety means visitors do not necessarily need to leave the park when they want to take a break from the water.
And for a family spending several hours here, that convenience matters.
An Informative Presentation After the Tour
After our walk around SplashMania, Vincent Koh led us to a meeting room for a presentation about the waterpark and the wider business.
This was an especially useful part of our visit.
Rather than simply seeing the attraction from a visitor’s perspective, we were given a better understanding of the thinking behind SplashMania, its attractions and its role within Gamuda Cove.
Vincent’s presentation was both interesting and informative, giving our group a much clearer picture of the business and the work involved in operating a major leisure attraction.
It also helped put what we had just seen into context.
The crowds, the staff, the attractions and the maintenance we observed during our walk were all parts of a much larger operation designed to deliver a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors.
Lunch Before We Continued Our Journey
Following the presentation, we enjoyed lunch together before it was time for our coach to depart for the next stop on our itinerary.
It was a pleasant way to conclude our SplashMania visit.
By then, we had experienced the attraction in a way that went beyond simply walking through a waterpark.
We had seen it at a busy time of day, observed families and children enjoying themselves, looked at the facilities and attractions, and heard directly from the team about the operation.
Our Verdict
SplashMania Waterpark is clearly designed with families and fun in mind, but what impressed me most during our visit was the attention to the visitor experience.
Yes, there are plenty of slides and attractions for those seeking thrills.
But there is also a strong emphasis on families, younger children, food, green surroundings and keeping the park clean and orderly.
Despite the number of visitors during our visit, the environment remained lively but well managed. Staff were visible and attentive, including attendants continuously dealing with wet sand and water on walkways.
That kind of behind-the-scenes attention is easy for visitors to overlook, but it is precisely what helps make a busy waterpark feel comfortable.
Our visit was brief — part of a packed Tourism Malaysia Mega FAM itinerary — so we certainly did not have enough time to experience everything SplashMania offers.
But we saw enough to understand why it has become an important leisure attraction at Gamuda Cove.
For families looking for a full day of water-based fun, SplashMania offers a compelling combination of adventure, family entertainment and a well-maintained environment.
And for us, it was an enjoyable stop on the Citrawarna 2026 programme — one that combined a glimpse into Malaysia’s modern leisure industry with plenty of smiles, splashes and family fun.
